Food for Thought

First off, today is HARRY POTTER'S BIRTHDAY. Yes, that is correct.  What a happy day this is!! I definitely plan on watching Harry Potter later...I am so excited:) Harry Potter was/is such a big part of my childhood, and they are some quality, quality books.  My favorite by far.

Secondly, I've been really, REALLY craving watching Les Mis lately...whoever owns it, feel free to lend it to me whenever you want!;) I await the day when I can see it performed on stage...*sigh* Wishful thinking.

Also, I have the best siblings in the world.  My sister Anna is super awesome at letting me chill with her and her family:) We went to 7 peaks yesterday and it was a blast!:) I love these kiddos:)

Last week I went home for pioneer day, it was so nice to be home for a little while! We went to the fireworks, I went to a bonfire with my friends, and hung out with the family, including a homemade slip'n'slide and banana splits! I love BYU, but going home was definitely nice:) Sadly, I didn't get many pictures..but my nephews sure are cute!:)

I LOVE my high school friends:) It was so fun to see some of them again:)

Life's great, Summer term's almost over! I can't wait for my 2 week break:)

Late Night Lowdown

So pretty much this is me "studying" for Psychology right now...but hey, a girl needs a break right? Speaking of breaks...I just made chocolate chip cookies for my roommates...that was yummy;)

I thought I'd give the lowdown of life as of late! Here are a few pictures to go along:)

 7/11!! We got free slurpees on July 11th...it was pretty fantastic;) We then went to the D.I. It's always a good time there;)

 NATIONAL COW DAY.  Need I say more? We got free Chik-fil-A...plus cows are pretty much the greatest animals on earth soo...

 80's/Disco Skating! That was a BLAST. Roller skating to some of the best music of all time? Don't mind if I do!

 I got to go see a Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert for Pioneer Day and it was FABULOUS.  That man who sang opera MELTED my heart. Oh my. And Lindsey Stirling was fantastic!! Not to mention the fact that Motab always rocks:) Stellar night.

I LOVE the scenery on campus. The sky and the mountains and the flowers and everything is always just gorgeous. I literally am in constant awe of the beauty here:)

Temple Run

For the past 3 days I have gone running! Yes...I know, Mariah + running = nothing because it never happens..but it did! And I plan on continuing it!:) It's so nice, I feel so great when I get back and I'm hoping to keep a habit of it.  But the best part of my run is when I get to the temple:) I run to the temple, and then I just sit on the grounds and look at the temple. When I'm done I usually walk around the temple and then run back.  It is so wonderful; it's seriously a highlight of my day, every day.  The grounds are just GORGEOUS.  I LOVE the flowers and the BEAUTIFUL view of the valley if I turn around:) The amazing thing about temple grounds is the whole time I'm there my Savior's love for me is just so evident:) The Spirit is just there all the time.  It's an AMAZING feeling.  I could sit there all day.  It makes the running and being tired TOTALLY worth it, just to sit and look at the temple for a little while. It's just so amazing how much He loves us:) One of my favorite scriptures: "Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows." :) He loves us so much:) And temples just reassure me of that love:) Here are some pictures from my run!

First Post

Yay for my first blog post!:) I'm pretty excited to get started on here.  SO. Something you should know about me: I'm currently attending summer term at BYU baby!:) And I LOVE it. It is just amazing. My classes are great, tough, but great. I also just love all the stuff there is to do on campus, there's always something going on!:) I just love the atmosphere here..BYU's a special place:) I love that it's an LDS school and that I can mix my education with my religion, which is great.  And one of the BEST things: I have INCREDIBLE roommates. Honestly, I don't think I could love them more.  I am so grateful to have them:) We have TONS of fun, and they're always there for me, and it's just great:)

 At Stadium of Fire on the 4th of July! My friend Joel gave me his extra ticket and the two of us went together! It was a BLAST. We saw Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepson, Cirque du Soleil. It rocked. :)

I am utterly in love with BYU's campus. It is breathtaking.  

So another thing that's been going down lately is my SMASH BOOK. :) It's pretty much like a scrapbook...but better:) All but one of my roommates got them and we're doing a Freshman Year Smash Book.  This is a picture of mine and a few of the pages it comes with.  I'll definitely be posting pictures as I go.  Right now I already made a Favorite Quotes page, a Bucket List page, and a Things I Love page. I can't wait for the pictures I ordered to get here so I can continue SMASHING :) PS. yes, that is what I based the name of my blog off of...Simply Smashing:)
