Little Miracles

What an incredible past few days this has been! First off, I have a story to tell:) So I had a bunch of auditions the past little while, I tried out for Beyond Measure and Noteworthy, both a capella groups here at BYU. Beyond Measure is a brand new group of both guys and girls, and they have some big aspirations. Noteworthy is a group celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year, is composed of all girls, and is pretty prestigious! So on Thursday I had my first Beyond Measure audition, and I was pretty nervous. For instance, I was attempting to read my Physical Science textbook, and it was just NOT working out, haha.  I was really getting nervous.  I decided to give up on my textbook, and instead I went and read a little bit in The Book of Mormon, because I knew that would calm me down.  I read some scriptures about how Heavenly Father gave Nephi the strength he needed to do things, and just other verses about how anything is possible through The Lord.  I also said some prayers, hoping that my nerves would be calmed down.  I felt a lot better after that, but I was still pretty nervous.  Just then I went outside and started walking toward where my audition was.  On my way I saw literally the most beautiful rainbow I've ever seen in my life.  It was a full rainbow, stretching to the earth on both sides, and it was a double rainbow! Someone even said it was a triple rainbow at one point.  It took my breath away! It made me feel SO extremely happy, and I walked toward my audition feeling soo good.  I literally could NOT stop smiling! :) I just felt like that was God's little reminder to me that He loves me, is watching out for me, and that through Him, all things are possible. :) It was JUST what I needed.  I walked to my audition feeling much less nervous! Of course, the nerves were still there, but I went into my audition and sang just how I would've liked to. :) I felt so blessed! A few hours later I found out I got a callback, so I was very pleased! Here are some pictures of that amazing rainbow:

Of course, these pictures don't even do it justice. It was incredible.
So the next day I had my initial Noteworthy audition, which went well! I then headed straight over to Beyond Measure callbacks after that. When I got home late that night, I found out that I did not get a part in Beyond Measure, but that I did get a callback for Noteworthy! So early the next morning I went to callbacks. They consisted of learning part of one of their songs, then learning some choreography to another song.  After that, some girls were excused, and the rest of us learned part of another one of their songs.  We were then asked to sing our initial solo audition again (I sang Someone Like You by Adele), and then we were free to go home. About half an hour later I got a phone call telling me they would like to have a short interview.  At this interview they just asked a little bit about me, any scheduling conflicts I might have, and then they had me sing a hymn and they quietly sang the other parts with me.  No complaints there, it went well!

I then headed to the first BYU home football game, against Texas! However, an hour before the game was even scheduled to start, something we like to call "Hurricane LaVell" came in ;)

We got SOAKED by the rain, and I stayed out there for over an hour, until I was so cold and decided to go home, change clothes, and come back later (the game was delayed because of nearby lightning). When I got home, SOPPING wet and freezing cold, I realized I had a voicemail...yes, a voicemail.  I checked it and it was a girl from Noteworthy calling me and telling me that they would love to have me be a member of Noteworthy. I died. I died right there on the spot. I seriously screamed and then called her back so I could tell her yes haha. I'm pretty sure I didn't hang up fast enough though and she probably heard me scream as I hung up the phone...how embarrassing...haha! Oh well. I danced and partied around my apartment for a long time after that...ask my roommates...haha! I am SO excited!! This will be such an awesome opportunity and so much fun! It'll be a lot of work, and I'm going to be pretty busy, but it'll be worth it! I can't wait to get started!

This was the first picture taken of me as a new member of Noteworthy!;) Notice how I'm drenched...yeah.

Another beautiful miracle happened recently, today in fact! My newest little nephew, Levi, was born! My brother sent me pictures and he is PERFECT. I don't want to steal his parents' thunder, so I won't post the pictures yet, but he is BEAUTIFUL. There is nothing more perfect than a sweet little baby. They're just so full of beauty and love. How can you deny that there is a God when you see a newborn baby? <3

Wonderful things have been happening! Life is beautiful!
Have a smashing day!:)
